Started on a 486, gave up after 10 or so units and several months,
re-started a few years later. I have an Athlon XP and a couple of
Celeron 900's crunching now. It'd be nice to get my 2,500 cert
before S&H closes for good. At least I just made into the top 10 in
the group I started this week. --

Misfit - you might want to check out my reply to Malcom, in this
thread, concerning further crunching.
Seen it. I've converted all my machines to BOINC now though. I have to set
an example for the group I started. :-)
Man, that's a lotta' cpu time.
Yeah, a lot of it was done originally on a 486, then a P1 for a while.
I'm really glad I found this n/g &
Ars-TLC when I first hopped on SETI. From the get-go, everyone
convinced me to go w/CLI_3.03, and use a caching & monitor progy.
Best SETI advice I ever got. Hell, they almost convinced me to check
out WINE over *nix! But I didn't want to spend the time and effort in
the learning curve.
BTW - I popped into our "old haunt", last nite. Yishhh! Talk about a
lousy Signal to Noise Ratio! 'Bout 80% arguing & bickering over BS,
and none too much of that "family" "old neighborhood" feeling, I used
to get. Maybe it's just me, 'cuz I haven't been around much, lately.
Maybe things always seem better when remembering the past. Maybe I've
changed. I dunno.
It's going through a rough-patch. It happens. Hopefully all will be well
after the 'cycle' is finished.
Anyway, I left a few posts.
Saw that buddy, even replied to a few. <g>.
Take care.
