Hi!
A similar problem, probably with the same cause: The estimated time for
the calculation is too low, so that BOINC downloads lots of WUs when I
set it to chache only for 2-3 days and then I have the problem, that
some of the WUs get very close to the deadline. So, to the BOINC staff:
Please fix it, and, if possible, expand the deadline (1 month perhaps),
so that we can cache more and don't run out of WUs if the server is
down again for days.
I'd much rather they didn't. I don't want to have to wait a month for
copies of the wu's I return to be validated for credit.
2nd that, as it stands its AFAIR over 10 days between a downloaded
WU and its reporting date. Even with 20 WU in cache for a single rig
they will all have been completed well before the deadline for WU 20.
Oh, and my day and a halfs cache is taking about 36 hours to process
:-)
I'm at 4 days, which seems to be 20 WU:-) from previous completions
I seem to be adveraging 8+ WU per day.. And as long as users bother
to tell boinc to update once a day or so, then I dont think anyones
completions will suffer...
