On one of the Boinc pages
(http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah/transition.php) it mention's (in an
example) that Boinc will only send WU's to machines with 512 MBs of Ram.
Does this mean that older computers with less then 512 MB of Ram will no
longer be able to take part in the Boinc Program or am I miss interpretating
something?

Read it again. It will only send workunits that require 512MB to
machines that have 512MB of ram. If you have less than that you'll
simply get units that don't need that much ram.
