Upgrade to Windows XP/2000. Windows gives you the freedom to run
graphics if you want to, and the freedom to install software just by
clicking the pretty OK button.
Installing software in Windows:
go out and buy a box with a CD in it ($50)
Pop CD in your computer
Click Setup
Click Next about 15 times
Affirm that you agree to give up your first born grandson to Microsoft
if they request that of you (via the EULA)
Installing software in Gentoo:
Open a prompt
type emerge nameofprogram
Installing software in Debian:
Open a prompt
type apt-get install nameofprogram
Installing software in RedHat/FC:
Locate an RPM
Download it
open a prompt
type rpm -Uvh /path/to/rpm/file
Now tell me which is easier to install software on? And cheaper? ;-)
