It's just that the term 'significant other' is hardly ever used in New
Zealand, although we are slowly being assimilated by the borg (USA).

Nobody really uses it in the States, either, except maybe by the media in an
attempt ot be PC.

I just wanted to get some word-play out of  "significant". ;-)
