You know those links you gave me? I think you need to check them out
yourself buddy. <g>.
Got that right...I've got at least a half dozen, or so, posts, under the
"you know your DC freak when..." thread.

A bit strange that SETI are basically advising people that BOINC isn't
working and to go back to SAH. How many times can you underestimate the
amount of traffic/participation in a project before you start to look like
idiots? You'd have thought they would have had this new equipment they've
been bringing on-line over the last few days already rolling, then sitting
back watching it all start to be utilised with a satisfied smile. Not
running around looking for RAM sticks that work.
Shouldn't have gone main-stream if they weren't ready for it. I'm getting
bombarded with emails from 'my' group, whom I suggested switch over to
BOINC. Berkeley shouldn't have gone public with BOINC yet if they weren't
ready.
I know a few people who work in IT, if they were as disorganised as the IT
crew at Berkeley they'd be laughed out of their jobs. *And* they don't
have
potentially millions of people waiting on them to find a RAM stick FCS! (I
know it's short of finances etc etc etc. but they're causing the world
stress-level to go up several notches. Great for the pharmacuetical
industry. <g>)
Just venting. I hate it when my systems aren't running at their best, plus
having to field emails from irate team-members. I shoulda just shut up
about
BOINC for a while I guess. I just figured, with all the beta testing and
their past experience, Berkeley would have been more onto it than this.
After all, in real terms I've spent a significant portion of my meager
invalid's benefit running PCs when they should really be shut down,
donating
processing power to Berkeley. Chances are, some of us with dedicated
'farms'
have less down-time than Berkeley.

No argument from me, here.
I pissed and moaned twice, already, in my team's forums.
