I think if you run the mp3 palyers WHILE doing the benchmarking you
MAY come out with a closer to accurate time. The benchmark is based on
whatever the computer is doing while benchmarking, if you stop doing
your regular stuff it will say it is faster than it really is. Maybe
the Celerons are fast in the beginning but then slow down because of
the small cache and that is affecting the benchmarks? If so then the
programmers should have caught that!

I always close all other programs when I install. (Windows) However, on the
'Messages' tab it says stopping other programs and network activity or
something similar before benchmarking, from memory.

I don't want to try re-installing to get it to re-benchmark while the mp3
player is running. As it is I installed BOINC on my Athlon twice (first time
to the wrong directory) and now it shows up twice on my computers list and I
can't 'merge' the two.

Just click on file on the top right hand corner of the program box and
"run benchmarks" is listed. Processing will stop and the benchmarks
will run.

Incidently, just checked the 'Messages; tab on my machine that has been
running all night (here in NZ) and it variously says: "Message from server,
No work available" or "No schedulers responded" for all attempted
communication with the server for the last 10 hours.

My main machine has 26 units completed, two to go before it runs out of work
(again!).

Cheers,
