Well Boinc... that's a load of cr** isn't it?

Couldn't get any units, so followed up someone else's advice from earlier,
and registered with Predictor@home. Downloaded some units at least so I
could see what it was like.

And what's this? The program seems so buggy that nothing works properly.
You
get a little pop-up DOS window, which is permantely running, closing it,
accidently or deliberately causes Boinc to mark that as failed, and then
attempt to re-download more units the next time it is activated. Boinc
doesn't seem to store it's work when you restart your machine. So it
redoes
the processed work again.

Uninstall. Wait a month. Reinstall.

Seems the only logical thing to do.



Yeah, I didn't even got BOINC to work properly.
If I install it in a normal way it won't work, if I extract it manually it
says there are files missing.

I still use the good old Seti@home progi.
