I don't know what's wrong with my cable.  It was getting about 3 MB/sec,
with peaks around 4 MB/sec, but I haven't seen more than 2.5 MB/sec the past
few days.  Awful.

I hope cable comes to your neighborhood, soon.  Actually, 1.5 MB is good
enough.  Don't settle for less.  (Don't settle for DSL.)

I'm only signed up for Cable Modem service, so they put on a filter that
blocks the Cable TV .  Well, a few TV channels leak through...  If you
cascade enough amplifiers together...

PS.  New Zealand; that's about as far away as you can get without being
extraterrestrial.  I spent a few weeks working in Wellington in the winter.
