The name is an acronym, so it isn't REALLY a name. That make it any
better? A % done would be nice though wouldn't it? Just like Seti
Classic.

If you are looking at the pretty pictures you aren't doing the Science
very fast, turn off the pictures and the program runs and works MUCH
faster.

minutes, and X seconds".

Yes they are having some MAJOR computer problems. I just don't think
they imagined EVERYONE switching over at once! It worked fine in beta,
with no input from us users, the program just worked, just like Seti
Classic. That is why they released it to the public.

4) It sucks that none of the old 3rd party tools will work.  For example I
would like to see the status of computer running seti from *one* computer.

The third party tools are from third party people/vendors and when
they the program up and running they will put out the programs.

5) I think BOINC should still be very much considered beta, or at least from
my perspective 95% non-functional.

The program itself runs and works fine, the Beta cleared up almost
every one of the problems people think are problems. The newest
computer issues have nothing to do with the actual Boinc program.

At least they have the classic still going.

Alot of us are still doing Seti Classic too. Personally I have all my
machines doing Classic while Boinc is down but during the Beta nd the
release I had 7 doing Boinc and 10 doing Classic. They will ALL
eventually be doing Boinc.

I am now considering whether or not I want to continue to participate.  I
just have a bad taste in my mouth after this BOINC stuff...

You choice as always, it is your computer and you have to decide
whether to use it or not and then, what to use it for. They are VERY
big paperweights though!
