I did that for Sick Boy when he visited NZ earlier this year, our place is
well positioned to spend a day or two to get over jet-lag and acclimitise
(sp?).

Where I live right now, rent starts at $900 U$D for a small 1 bedroom
apartment. A decent sized 2 - 3 bedroom flat is gonna' run in the
$1500/mo range. A really small 2 bedroom frame house starts at
$350,000 U$D. That's for a
bottom end "starter house"!

I pay NZ$720/mo for a three bedroom house. That's quite cheap though, we're
on the 'bad' side of a town a half-hour drive outside of Auckland. The house
is quite nice, decent size 'yard', but the 'hood is a bit, ummmm, rough.
Doesn't bother me none though, I keep to myself. For a similar house on the
'good' side it would cost upwards of $1,000/mo. I guess to buy this house
would cost around NZ$185,000 (But if I was in a position to buy I wouldn't
buy here, I'd live in the 'country', rural. I was bought up on a farm).
