I do not get it.
Finished 5 WU's since yesterday, but still no credits.
When I look at my account I cannot access pending credits and
results!
I do not understand this system. Why can I not access these
pages? How does this credit-system work? There is almost no info
on the SETI-site (and no info on the message-boards and no info
on usenet).
This has been covered here (alt.sci.seti) several times.
Not in the last two weeks, I guess.
Try Google groups.
I might, but after spending most of my morning en half of my
afternoon reading 2 newsgroups (1 goes back 1 month and one 2
weeks), the seti site and messageboards I am now quite fed up with
searching and finding nothing!
Incidently, it can take up to two weeks (or more) to get your
credits. Don't be impatient.
Argh, this new system is really motivating. I cannot keep track of
my workunits (the site is temporarily unavailable on that part), I
cannot see how many credits are pending, how credits are allotted,
what the ratio is and why.
What the hell am I doing this for? Where are the results going? A
bit of transparancy would be nice!
Berkeley are just having teething problems. It'll all be sorted in
the not-to-distant future.
You are familiar with the fact that you don't get credit until two
others have crunched the unit and returned the same result? This is
to stop cheating and make for better science. The downside is that
you have to wait for two others to return the unit and then for it
to be processed and credited.
It takes a while. If you're after instant gratification then BOINC
isn't for you. The information is/was available on the SETI site but
they've been having problems. When it's fixed you will be able to
track exactly what is happening with each unit and where it is in
the accrediting proccess.
Well, I would just like to see where "my" work is going. Right now I do not
know where it is going, if it arives, what they are doing with it. I'm
working blind now.
Found a page about crediting, though.
