This is starting to smell like spam. This group is alt.sci.SETI, if
you want, start a group alt.sci.predictor, or better, alt.sci.boinc.
I've been spending more time in private forums, and less on Usenet, as
of late. But, if BOINC gains a fair amount of cross-project momentum,
as time goes forward, alt.sci.boinc, might become a pretty viable,
and appropriate, entitiy.
I've toyed around w/the idea of starting alt.guitar.fender, a while
back, since there's no brand specific alt.guitar group I'm aware of.
But, I never bothered doing the research or metrics, 'cuz I didn't
want to make the time and effort commitment to start a new n/g.
'Course, since I didn't do the research, that doesn't mean there
ISN'T, a Fender group, somewhere.
But I think it MAY be possible to justify an alt.sci.boinc n/g in the
future. Time will tell.
Yep, I thought alt.sci.boinc might be a good idea too.
My main machine has been out of WUs for a while again, after getting a bunch
about five days ago. (Cache set to 3-4 days to increase turn-over and
hopefully get a few more people some credit to encourage them on a bit)
What's annoying is the machine I leave on 24/7 grabbed some units overnight,
I checked it before I fired up my main machine. So I turned my PC on with
high hopes of getting my cache filled but so far - no good. I can't even get
to my stats page to change the cache size so that, when it does connect, it
gets a larger cache.
BOINC is becoming an excercise in frustration.
