It's the 4th of July weekend.

Why do American's assume the rest of the world knows or cares about
their holidays?

because after Canada it is the next best country in the world?

U-huh. Is that right? <g>

because it is a world power? (the only one)

A dangerous situation if there ever was one.

because one would have to be living in a cave to not know?

It's not a matter of not knowing. It's a matter of not being aware at the
time. I live in NZ and I watch American programs and movies, I know you guys
celebrate the 4th of July. However it's not plastered all over the TV or
media and friends aren't talking about the holiday immediately before-hand
so, although we know the USA celebrates the 4th July, come early July it
just isn't in mind for the rest of us. Make sense?

And anyway, for whoever it was who said "Duh! It's the holiday weekend, it
won't be up and running until at least Tuesday", the Berkeley team did in
fact work that weekend and Saturday 3rd/Sunday 4th was the last time all my
machines were able to fill their cache's.
