just an idea...run sfc?

That was a good idea. I had forgoten about System File Checker. It
just found some old ATI drivers (I think) that it replaced, nothing
else. Seti still freaks on me.
But that was a good call !

Does WinXP freak on you if you do not have seti running?

Or does it 'freak' only when you start seti?

A general Windoze cleanup tip is:

1 backup your data elsewhere;
2 scandisk;
3 virus/trojans scan;
4 spyware scan;
5 registry scan & cleanup;
6 system file check;
7 double check the firewall settings;
8 identify & double check what 'services' are running;
7 good luck.

(Geee... Those were the days! (:-((

Have fun,
Martin
