Nah... The problem is with the priorities (and scheduling) in WinXP and
OE. There are various 'critical path' tasks that get executed at a low
priority! This means that if you have anything else running at that
priority or above, instead of getting a graceful slowdown you can get a
BSOD.
If you are trying to run setiboinc as a service, make sure that it runs
at the lowest priority. It will still get all the spare CPU time.
I've got boinc and a few other things set running at low priority and
all is fine. Still got a very responsive machine (linux).
BTW: Netscape is a good alternative to OE, and it won't crash your
machine as often.
