Cheers,
Hey I just switched a harddrive from one machine that had an Athalon
chip to a machine that had an Intel chip. It was XP Pro and it went
VERY WELL! EVERYTHING on the 2 machines was different, video cards,
amount of memory, chip maker, board maker, EVERYTHING! Got it up and
running in less than an hour!
I have a Volume License Edition, also known by layman as Corporate
Edition, that and the fact that it is a Pro edition, made it so no
re-registering needed.
That's good to hear, I'd heard that XP had problems with that sort of thing.
My 98SE change-over went well. It's a new mobo, CPU, on-board video, audio
and LAN. The only things from the previous set-up were the SCSI card and the
CDROM.
Running sweet as a nut now. It'd be interesting to see how much faster it
does SETI WU's under BOINC but I'm getting "No work from project" message.
