Phew! Have you no grasp of time and numbers!!
I didn't realise you worked for the project! Could you tell me the
time (as having tested actually taking emails from s@h volunteers),
and the numbers of questions/request you recieve there at Seti at
Home? Or more acturately, when you DID HAVE an public email address,
how many emails did you recieve?
If your not with the project (which I'm sure is the case) then don't
assume the numbers are too large, and don't assume the time is too
great. Things can be accomplished - if there is a will to do so
(THATS MY POINT!).
The forums and these newsgroups work very well without the need for
direct involvement from s@h 'staff'. They have been seen to keep an
occasional eye on things and intervene if crucial. Otherwise, consider
it 'distributed support'.
I haven't seen 1 official member of the project here. I have not seen
1 announcement from the project here. My origional post asked - How
Do I Contact S@H - not 1 official member replied.
I would strongly dispute that this newsgroup works very well. The
official S@H presence here is 0, just as their contactability on their
web pages is almost 0.
Supposedly, the science is more important than stats numbers against
names...
Sure it is. I just might take my cycles to another science project.
You totally missing the point - FORGET THE NUMBERS - thats not the key
point. Everyone says that the s@h project is all volunteers -which is
garbage. There are people in the project being paid thru grants,
there are people MAKING THEIR CAREERS off that project.
