Mike Ober is NOT a troll, he is a program writing contributer to Seti

I would normally appologize, and perhaps I'm not using the troll term
100% correctly, but that comment served no purpose other than being
negative, and attacking.
I have expressed nothing but a civilized point of view. I haven't
attacked anybody. I did not deserve that, period.
I must have missed some of those posts. You have attatcked all the
volunteers on the Seti Staff for not having a way for you to contact
them to send a letter of displeasure. You have expressed that several
times in this newsgroup, they do not need to expose themselves to a
direct letter.
If Mike is in someway OFFICIALLY tied to the project I have these two
points.
1. Does HE have the mysterious email address - or a way of directly
contacting the project organizers, so that at least I might draw up a
letter to express my displeasure.
Just send it to Dr. Anderson at the Berkeley Campus, Seti Department.
2. IF his attitude (as expressed in that negative post) towards
crunchers is in anyway indicative too the entire project staff's
attitude - then I, and in my opinion, anyone else (regardless of the
scientific goals) shouldn't support them.
I cannot speak for his attitude or opinion of this matter other than
his original comment.
Your problem is that there is NO WAY for you to prove who you are! You
have lost or never got the only way for Berkeley to prove that you
are you and not someone saying they are you. If you still had the
original email address than you would be okay without the
password/user id, whatever you choose to call it. But you do not have
either, you are up a creek with no paddle.
An analogy for you: You are like the passenger on the airplane that
just landed in Iran that wants to come back to America that can't
prove he is an American. No passport, no family in the US, you even
went to school overseas, the flight did not originate or even pass
over the US, no way to prove you were ever in the US except your say
so. The Embassy cannot help you, you can complain all you like but you
are not getting into the US until you can PROVE who you are, and you
have lost anyway of doing that!
