I have to agree with you. I have tried to run the Boinc software and was
unable to stabilize it. I'm very disappointed, as I also, have become very
attached to SETI. But I think the right answer to disengage all software
until they figure it out. May be awhile.

I think the SETI project is probably the most important intellectual
endeavour on the planet today. That's why I finished 2500 WU's over 5
years
without caching. But what a shame that SETI @ home is currently being
sabotaged by incompetence or worse. You can't even complain on the
newsgroup
without some arrogant nerd trying to disrespect your feelings.
I have removed my SETI @ home software for now. I may come back to BOINC
when all this stupidity is resolved if it ever is, or I may find another
interesting distributed computing project.
