FWIW -

A bit of discussion came up concerning SAH's listening frequencies,
and it jogged my memeory.

I posted here, a while back, inquiring about the book in the subj line.

Anyway, just thought I'd mention it's a pretty good read for somone
who's interested in the nuts & bolts technology of SETI. The book is
actually a compilation of papers that were the outcome of several workshops
affiliated w/The Seti Institute, that took place just before the turn of the
millennium.

It reads more like a collection of academic papers, than a popular book,
but is written at a level that could probably be well understood by the
general populace. A very basic understanding of physics, from a good
H.S class or a basic 'intro' 100 level University course, along with a
passing familiarity of rudimentary electroncs/electromagnetics, might assist
getting "more" out of the book, but are not really nescessary.

The are many mathematical expressions sprinkled throughout the book,
with brief explanations, which is nice, since you can simply look at a one
line equation, rather than having to endure a long verbose paragraph
explaining relationships that can easily be explained by a simple equation.
The math is at the basic Alg-Trig level, w/almost no calculus.

SAH is only a small subset of the material, since SETI is the main subject
matter.

Might be considered a 'dry' read by some, but if you enjoy technology, or
are a technologist interested in learning about specific SETI
implimentations, including the mathematical analysis, budgeting, timelines,
human and material resources required, etc., you might enjoy it.

$25 U$D from the SETI Institute, or $17 w/free shipping from Amazon.
