Win9x can have issues with a PC with more than 512MB RAM. There's a
knowledgeBase article or three about it at Microsoft's site. For me the
problems occurance seemed to be related to the video card and driver
used. The solution boiled down to putting these lines into
c:\windows\system.ini

[vcache]
MaxFileCache=522240

6 hours per WU seems about right compared to my Celeron 3 1100 @
1210MHz.

Can't help with the Morse code but there are web sites that explain what
these diagnostics mean. Try Googling for <bios maker> bios error codes
beeps.
