My Barton 2500 is overclocked to 2800 speed. I usually complete a unit
in around 3 hours and a few minutes (4,5,6). This morning I got up and
checked the progress of Seti Classic and the work unit was complete but
Seti couldn't send or receive data.
After a few minutes checking server status, I looked at the time it took
to complete the last unit and it stated 1 hour 28 minutes and 26.9
seconds. This is extraordinarily fast for my setup. What makes the
difference between units, especially such a drastic difference?
I'm running the GUI Classic on an Asus A7N8X Dlx, FSB 166, Barton 2500+
running at 2.08Ghz (2800+ equivalent), with 512MB of PC-2700.
Either a prob w/your cpu generating errors (heat/exceessive OC?),
or an excessively noisy WU.
This happened to me several times early in the proj. They were noisy
WU's, and yes, I did get credit for the small amount of crunching I did.
