Its just a shame how some take that feeling to extremes and into
various strange directions for venting their personal frustration.

So tell me.  When you're evaluating someone's apparent frustration, how do
you judge whether their frustration is entirely a function of SETI problems,
or a projection of their deeper "personal frustrations?"

Should you judge?

[... Antagonising whatever 'frustrations' further ...]

Very philosophical...

To answer in kind and perhaps learn & teach better ways,

or to answer dispassionately and have the ignorants stay ignorant.

I usually try to give the benefit of doubt, but given suitable 'inappropriateness' then I think rattling someone with all guns blazing is appropriate fun.

I also try to offer an escape tangent...

So: "I know everything, s@h don't work, s@h is crap": BANG!

Alternatively: "s@h don't work, what's happening?": Kindly try whatever.

And then there's the shades of grey for those inbetween too lazy to look for themselves.

If I don't know something, I'll find out or just ask.

The one or two recently blasted I think have made themselves incredible examples. More so for completely missing what was happening around them.

I mustn't be too far off on a tangent considering the lack of flamings thus far...

All good (informative) fun,
Martin
