Hi stanmc.

Cool; no pun intended. Thanks for the heads up.
OK on the well ventilated case. I have old technology here. One fan in the
back, one in the power supply. My new Powerleap (Slot-1 CPU upgrade) added
a CPU-fan that the 450 MHz PIII didn't have, and it's hard to hear the
computer got slightly noisier. No temperature monitoring, which is a real
blind spot.
No overclocking as far as I know. It's the same ol' BIOS. However, the
Powerleap offers four jumpers for selecting one of 16 CPU core-voltages.
There was no advice on how to adjust that, so I just selected the "Default,"
1.550V to 1.575V. I would try notching down the voltage, but I'm afraid
some faulty signal will cause my hard drive to be erased.
Slowly gathering parts to build my next computer. Enjoying reading about
all the cases and customer reviews. Almost as educational as hanging out on
alt.sci.seti.
Unlike ~misfit~, I don't pontificate too often.
Neither does ~misfit~. I guess you caught him while he was feeling his
oats.
Hey ~misfit~, -- get your hands out of those oats.
