I downloaded and installed SETI Driver. Set it up following the
instructions on the
website. Set up SETISpy to run with it according to the instructions on
that website. But
SETI Driver can't seem to download any units. SETI@Home is still
processing the unit it
has though. Any ideas why this is not working? I set it all up on 2
computers and SETI
Driver can't seem to retrieve any WU's on either
Change the "desired cache size" box to a number higher than the number
of units you currently have in your system and it should download them
just fine. It will start with the highest number and work down.
You ARE using the CLI with it right? Just put both in the same
directory and just double click on SetiDriver and it will
automatically run the CLI. I don't believe that you can run the screen
saver version with SetiDriver.
What's the CLI?
I'm using SETI@Home, SETISpy and SETI Driver
CLI = Command Line Interface.
The screen saver version is the GUI (Graphical User Interface).
The CLI doese not have a screen saver function, therefore it
is faster since it uses fewer cpu resources.
It can be found here:
http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/unix.html
Scroll halfway down the page for a download called:
i386-winnt-cmdline.exe: 3.08
A slightly faster version (recommended) which has slightly less security,
but is fine if your going to connect to a known good
server such as Berkeley's, is CLI 3.03, and can be found here:
ftp://alien.ssl.berkeley.edu/pub/
It is the 32nd icon from the upper-left corner, counting across,
and then down. It is called:
setiathome-3.03.i386-winnt-cmdline.exe
If you still have probs, I can link you to the getting started
tutorial that I first used. Depending on RL, I may be in this
n/g daily, or sporadically.
Thanks! That seems to be working now. I always ran the graphical version 3.08 with my
screensaver set to 'none' because it runs faster if you don't watch it.
SetiDriver is downloading units right now. I changed seti@home.exe to seti@home.exe.bak,
so it won't run again.
Do I have to put the command line version in my startup folder?
Yes if you want it to startup automatically when Windows starts.
