Perhaps it's a fault in the Linux 3.03 client, then, because mine most
definitely have not.

FWIW the clients I was referring to are v3.08: Windows CLI/SetiDriver
and Macintosh GUI. I suppose it might also have had something to do
with just how far along the transaction proceeded before being
interrupted by the communication errors.
