I also saw the v4 message last night.  I assume that they were either testing something, or that the bump to 4.x was done to cause clients to switch to a 24hr wait time.

One of my machines had this message too. However it has units now, ver.3.2.

By the way, version change to 4.x is upcomming. I remember reading it
in a Predictor@home thread.

I hope someone posts here when it's released.
