Huh?  BOINC only has one S@h client.  What do you mean "with either the GUI
or CLI client"?

That is correct, but there are two version of the BOINC client: The boinc_gui.exe features a nice(?) tray icon and has a window which displays the projects you joined, the sate of the current WU etc. while the boinc_cli.exe is just a normal command line tool. Perhaps the GUI is a special thing only available in windows BOINC? I haven't tried BOINC on another system atm, so I only know the Win client.

I don't know why it's crashing, but the inability to get more work has been
affecting everyone -- the project has had a lot of down time.

I know this. But my BOINC crashes while trying to send the results. I just checked it with a network monitor: After startup BOINC sends a scheduler  request. This is correct, since I'm out of WUs. The request is an XML-like document which is send via HTTP. It contains information about my computer my seti version and identifies me. There's no rsult in there. Shortly afterwards BOINC crashes without any further network traffic, so it crashes BEFORE actually trying to establish a connection to send the result.

So I assume this problem has nothing to do with the state of the S@h server.

More ideas?
