I've been using SETI@home for years now. I've set it up at the
colleges I attended, at home and at work. But here recently, I've
been thinking about the point of it.
To my knowledge, SETI@home is out of new data completely. So what
exactly are we running anymore? Things that have been done 5 or 6
times? Is there even a point to doing this anymore? There are
plenty of other massive projects similar to SETI@home that need
participants and computer power.. and I just have a hard time
justifying using my computer for SETI, if my computer is doing no
good.
So someone out there that knows more then I do.. what exactly are the
units that are coming recently doing? Is there a point at all to
them?
How do you mean "out of new data" completely?
