Are you running it in screensaver mode?  You'll get much better times with 
no graphics (read: command line version)

ddr memory, 400 mhz system bus, windows xp home addition) does seti take 
so long to finish a unit of work. the seti client that im using is version 
3.08

it takes an average 8/9 hours.

looking at some of the bench mark stuff i found in another posting. it 
says it should take about three hours.

my machine is alway on and the only thing that runs most of the time is 
seti and NAV w/auto protect.

is there a way to speed seti up.
