The insult, or the progy removal thru the ctrl pnl? ;-)
If you deleted rather than removed, I'd give a very high probability that
is what caused the prob. A subsequent re-install & correctly performed
removal MAY not rectify the situation, once it's already occured. This is
from my experience. Returning to an earlier restore point just may work,
though.

Oh, a last bit of information: The Computer runs WinXP HOME. Perhaps
here's a problem which only occurs on the HOME and not on the Prof.
versions? But hat seems unlikely...
