At least some one's getting something. I'm still not going up or down. I
only got 1 days worth of data when this all started. Hope it doesn't time
out first.
Hey I've seen alot of anger from everyone on Boinc's status and I don't get
it. Yes there's a bunch of egg-head nerds at college trying to do something
good for the world and earn a degree too. Bud's right, they do need someone
in PR. But Martin's right too. Yes you can argue that your paying for the
electricity to run the computers but come on admit it, You were going to
have the machine on anyway, right? That's what started this whole project.
And hasn't it been wonderful to be apart of a program that spawned and
spured distibuted computing to where it is today? I just found this
newsgroup 2 weeks ago and it seems a great place to get info on what's going
on. Lord knows Berkeley's not telling us. :-) Someone mentioned trying to
make it into the top 1% goup the other day and I was stunned to check my
stats and find out I was already there. It wouldn't matter what place I was
in, I had fun crunching and learning about distributed processing power.
Seti may never find anything out there. Maybe ET is using light to
communicate. But to not try is far worse than arogantly ignoring the
possibility.
As far as Bionc, lighten up. It takes alot of Dad's money to buy Pizzas and
Code Red Mountain Dew to write software like this. And to have it break on
the last free weekend before scholl starts is just bad luck. (No I don't
really know when the semester starts :) All good things to those who wait,
and wait, and wait, and wait,,,,,,,,,and wait,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
HEY IT'S BEEN THREE DAYS NOW, WAKE UP THERE IN BERKELY!!!!!!
