Not sure what your implying here. Tempaerature cycling is exactly what
will SHORTEN an electronics device's life. It's better to run electronics
in a steady state environment, within thier specs.
And running 24/7 means no on/off temp cycling. And running WUs keeps
the CPU busy so it does not temperature cycle from idle to busy.
What I haven't heard of is the new top speed CPUs throttling their
clock based on temperature when doing S@H. If that happens above some
clock speed there will be no decrease in processing time as the CPU is
reducing its clock to control temperature.
