This from my home team forums by a poster named 'Rattledagger'.

He's a BOINC beta tester, and his info has always been detailed
and dead-on accurate. His info has been so timely, detailed, and accurate,
that I originally thought he was affiliated w/the proj. It wasn't until I
asked him of his affiliation, that I found he was 'only' a beta tester.

Therefore, I believe the following post could be credible:

<begin>

Climateprediction.net has now started their beta. Unfortunately, they're
using v4.03, so till seti@home & predictor@home upgrades to v4 you can't run
these alongside CPDN.

Note, on upgrade to v4, any wu/result & v3-application will automatically be
deleted, so remember to report any results beforehand.

</end>

I was well aware of CPDN using v4.x, due to my frequenting the CPDN forums.

The second statement, though is BIG NEWS to me!

If there's any truth to this upgrade WU loss, it's definitely a cause for
taking precautionary measures, IMO. Not only can we lose completed WU's,
but any unprocessed WU's dumped will have to hit thier experation period,
and then be resent, which would delay the granting of credit for other
crunchers holding the same WU's.

Comments?

Experiences?

Anyway, FWIW.
