I just got an AMD 64 3200+ with 512k L2 Cache. Any ideas on optimizing
it to crunch max units for Seti. I will move it to Boinc after it is
setup as my main machine, right now I just want to make sure it will
work correctly.
Currently it is doing CLI workunits in just under 2 hours, but I did
have the screen saver on. I have since turned that off, I HATE Windows
defaults sometimes. I am using XP Pro if that makes any difference.
Here is the specs:
XP Pro, Seti Driver, CLI version of Seti
Any ideas?
Are you using CLI_3.03?
yes
Using PCI/AGP cards, instead of on-board functions (video, enet, etc.)?
yes
Do you also have your desktop set to 'none', not just the screensaver?
yes
Desktop icons set ot "off"?
no
Under start/ctrl pnl/system/advanced/performance/settings/ "adjust for
best performance"?
yes
(the last three pertain especially to running DC while multitasking)
Just checking. ;-)
thanks for checking!
