I do not know what the gray icon means.  I assume this is the S@H program 
itself, not some addon like SetiDriver, SetiQueue, etc.  Which S@H program 
are you running, the screensaver or the CLI (command line text only version

different versions.  Is the icon in the main body of the taskbar or in the 
system tray?

they?  If there aren't, your "more pix" link is irrelevant and will only 

[H] gray. It's a gray seti icon. It's green now [rebooted machine], and the color
[H] it seemed had no effect on it's operation. Less it slowed it down even more.

cause confusion.  At the very least, you should say what the site has "more 
pix" of, so people don't go there looking for one thing and find another, 
completely irrelevant, thing.

[H] pix = pictures. If I thought a gray icon had some sort of relevance I'd
[H] actually made some sort of reference to 'you can see the icon at my website'

Husky, while I have no idea what a gray icon means, I understand the "paranoia?"
or aggravation of other posters. The "more pix @" link is misleading - at least
with your question about the "gray icon" - that there are pictures of it to be
found there. I realize it's a .sig (signature) you add at the end of every post.
what you need to do is to follow the signature conventions and place a "-- "
(that's [dash][dash][space] without the quotes) in a line above the .sig.
