Actually that was sarcasm.
Agent went and blackened it's icons also the other day. Something I figured
would never happen again once I upgraded from the 48 ram P1 I was using.
I'm pretty much figuring this gray icon is a lack of resources. ie: I've seen
the agent black icons b4 when the resource indicator dropped into the yellow
and red.
Couldn't run seti 24/7 with the P1 so it never went to gray.
Never ran it long enough to see anything.
I sorta figured after 7 years, and the number of jumps I made to upgrade from
win98 original and a P1 w 48 megs that I'd see a working OS and other problems
fixed. Not carried over from one version to the next.
It runs fine using it's own processor, I'll just have to get used to the gray
icon no one knows about cept me.
It's processed more in the past 2 weeks than the entire 7 years previously.
Hiya Husky.

So I'll have to assume this memory problem is a one of a kind thing. 1 gig of
ram, XP pro and a P4 is not enough to run the current software available.
Or the software isn't compatible with the hardware.
Have you tried BOINC (between downtimes) or the SETI Spy/Driver/Command
line version method?
between downtimes is turned off for me.
Cooked a brand new 350 watt power supply the other day. Added another fan and a
400 watt supply.
Luckily under warranty.
And that fan's kicking out heat like a clothes dryer. hot enough to wrinkle the
skin.
Only other option if it takes out this power supply will be it's own personal
brine cooler.
