OOOOOOOOPPPPPPPsss!!!!!!
Sorry guys forgot to mention i also have Redhat Linux 7.1 as well so maybe
that would have been better to state with the rest, it just slipped my mind
cos i never used only when i first got it and for only a few days!
So far what i'm picking up is Linux, which i assume redhat is good enough,
or win xp with services turned off?
Yes, and yes.
And
http://www.blackviper.com/
is an excellent site for Windows config info.
However, just as Windows has moved on since the days of Win3.1, so has
the world of linux. Look at a much more recent distro than Redhat 7.
Redhat has now evolved into "Fedora Core". Wine has also been radically
developed further, to the point where it now offers enough MS services
to now be vulnerable to MS-viruses! (Who said you couldn't have viruses
on linux (;-))
Note that 'Windows' and 'linux + whatever desktop' are by
/design/
different. The desktop 'look and feel' is similar however. Easy to
convert to or to work in both even.
(And yes, I obviously use linux by choice, despite having various
Windows installations available. WU rate increased when I moved over to
linux + Wine.)
Happy crunchin',
