See the sig for Mandrake.

Why, pray tell, are you suggesting Linux, when the OP listed only
Windows versions?

Martin sounds like a broken record and is best killfiled. I killfiled him
a while back, but recently I bought a Mac and saw one of his posts. I read
that and it was still the same record playing over and over and over and
over and over. The guy has never even used 2000 or XP and so only knows
about the bad things that people say about it. Surprise: people
exaggerate when they are annoyed and blow things out of proportion.

In that thread I asked him if he could play a .wav file. He went nuts. All
I asked him is whether he could play the file, that's all. I couldn't when
I tried SuSE 8 - I was wondering if Linsux had made any progress on that
issue. I guess not. Incidentally, the file type TrueSpeech isn't obscure
at all - it is used on most audio chat systems, all digital voice
recorders and pretty much most places where voice is used. It is from the
company DSP Group and has nothing to do with Microsoft.
