That's because they are still working on the switch over!
You reacted to potential news, not real time news.
They said we "will be" not "we have".
They also said that you can finish your version 3 units and then
switch when they have it up and ready. You went to a Climate
Predicting site and downloaded a program for use on a different
program, Seti. Not generally a good idea.
Fortunately in this case it worked out. BOINC went from "no work
available" to "you can't use this version". It was a virtual certainty
they wouldn't be ready on the 26th. My classic command line version
works as well as ever. You would have to be nuts to expect anything
from the BOINC project to work correctly right now.
