I downloaded it from Martin's link. Yesterday no schedulers
responded. Today it says I can't participate in the project unless
I'm using core version 3.
That's because they are still working on the switch over! You reacted
to potential news, not real time news.

I guess you were the guniea pig.
Spot on exactly correct George!
(:-))
At the moment, I'm still getting for example:
###

2004-08-28 03:14:25 [SETI@home] Message from server: To participate in

is showing v3.20 still.
And the latest is from

Well the last set of hardware issues have been resolved. Due to the time
of day and other factors the upgrade will be delayed until at least
tomorrow morning. We'll post the revised schedule as soon as plans have
been firmed up.
###
I'll post when I notice anything being picked up.
Happy crunchin' all,
Martin
Here is the absolute latest from Rom Walton, a senior programmer with
Berkeley:
"For those who want to get a jump start on the 4.x upgrade, go ahead
and signup to CPDN and upgrade the client. Then when S@H has upgraded
to the 4.x version you'll automatically start downloading S@H
workunits."
So yes the poster that was asking about the download from Climate
Predication was okay to do what they did, but until 10AM PDT NOTHING
will happen!
At that time, preminarily (contacts have to be made first!), units
will start flowing. Yes the pipes at Berkeley will be VERY FULL! And
data will be very hard to come by!!!! They say they are stocking up on
units now, just so we can have enough to fill our caches.
Personally I wish they would just send out units more than 3 times
when they start to run low. Adding more confirmations to the data
makes the results more Scientific. Maybe have one or even more
machines JUST making units for us to crunch!
For those that missed it here is the link to version 4.05 of Boinc:

You do NOT need to sign up, just download and then install right over
your current version. After it installs it will try to connect but of
course will error out with "no schedulers responded".
