Hi Frantic...

The article is from Sep 2, 2004 (look at top-right).
The signal was first found in Feb 2003, then repeated a year or so later
(although we dont have official data about that) and then re-analyzed and
found again in the May? 2004 observation session.

This is the signal which was first 'hiped' in New Scientist, discussed
throughout this newsgroup, and discarded by Werthimer.

The 'message-in-a-bottle' remark is report on the claim by some scientists
that ET would
contact us by putting a CDR or so in a probe and send it to us, rather
than
use radio.

Found an old article about a "likely candidate signal" from Feb 2003

http://news.scotsman.com/scitech.cfm?id=1028302004

Been awhile since this "enigma" was detected, 1.5 years, did anyone ever
come to any conclusions about this signal?

They quoted "David Anderson, the director of the SETI@home project",
someone
I've never seen posting here (in the slums?) for the past few years I've
been processing (and lurking).

Does he post on the S@H site ocassionally? Would be nice to read a post
here in the Newgroup from time to time from Mr. Anderson, just to know
our
results aren't falling into a black hole somewhere...
