Check your IRQ sharing. The older MoBos don't handle resources very
well, you may have a conflict with your modem, NIC, and USB card.
Both the USB card and the NIC are sharing an IRQ with "IRQ Holder for PCI
steering". The modem hasn't been assigned an IRQ (just noticed) since I
reinstalled last night. I've just deleted it and am reinstalling it. However
it was giving the same problem with the previous configuration.
If they are not trying to use the same IRQ I think the next thing I
would do is move the NIC to another slot and see if it goes away.
I'm all out of slots. It's am mAT board. I can change things around but I
have no spare slot. It has AGP, 3 PCI (One shared with) two ISA, both in
use.
I have a PCI NIC, a PCI USB card, an ISA modem and an ISA soundcard.
You might also check the BIOS and see if it is assigning an IRQ for a
PCI video card whether one is installed or not. Some had that setting
available and you can free up an IRQ (since you have an AGP card) if
that is the case.
In system info there is no IRQ listed for video card at all.
Thanks.
