Still strange.

The Win98 people have been suffering severe system slowdowns during Boinc network activity. The problem is acute for dialup users due to the slow link and hence long transfer delays. The latest (4.09 or later) versions supposedly cure this. Could be related. If so, very interesting for what is happening!
