When I first started using Seti@Home 3 years ago it was under a

my old address and password worked *in the program*, allowing me to
add on to my 35 previously completed WU's. BUT, at the S@H website,
when I try to change my user account status to update it to my current
email, the site doesn't recognize my old address/password (which is
weird because, as I said, the program recognizes it). Are my only
options starting over or using the dead email? Is it a problem on
S@H's end? Thanks.

If you don't know the password you can't change the settings. If you
don't have that old email account then they can't send you the
password. You have a loop that is not recoverable.
If you know the password then you can log in using the old email
address and password and then change the settings to your new email
address, if not then you are in the loop.
It is part of the security system that was setup and is not
changeable.
