Hi,
Seeing all the bullshit in this newsgroup or maybe sci-fi... or maybe
future
technology I thought I add some of mine hehehehe.
My idea is to use the SUN as a way to send a message to aliens ;)
We build a big shield around the sun. And then we can turn it on and off
like a lamp.
It's very easy to write a sentence like that.....
A shield made of what? Surrounding how much of the Sun? At what
distance (which will have a lot to do with its mass)? Are you talking
about some kind of billion-mile wide Venetian Blind? Have you any sort
of idea about how hard it would be to make something like this move in
unison?
That's for 'the scientists', 'the engineers' to figure out =D
But I'll contribute a bit ha-ha.
What is the sun made of ?
Maybe it's like lava like earth ?
Maybe we can 'scoop' some of this stuff up and use it to construct the
shield hehe.
Otherwise we simply need startrek like technology <- haha problem solved =D
And you think *we* talk bullshit?
Strong, very directional radio waves are easy to generate, and some
parts of the spectrum (do a search on "SETI"+"water hole") are usefully
quiet.
BhheheHE ? What are you talking about ? I am a intelligent being... lol and
I don't know what you are talking about hehehe.
It's my understanding that the Aricebo readitelescope could
communicate with another device like itself on the other side of the
galaxy. If we had the will, we could build something even bigger/higher
gain in free-fall and/or on the Lunar farside. ETs that have radio at
all, likely could do even better.
Hey man... I am cluesless... it's to difficult for me.. must be too
difficult for any alien civilization unless ofcourse they are advanced...
but we dont know that... maybe the all explode/die before they ever reach st
artrek age ;)
A simple star going ON and OFF, ON and OFF would be a clear sign...
We don't even need to broadcast data.... because that would mean we have to
turn it on and off at different times... we could still do that... because a
little bit more intelligent alien might notice the irregular on and off...
However such a simple signal will at least point them into the right
direction... namely our direction... than any high-tech can later be applied
to try and pick up a signal or send a signal :D hehehehehe.
Yeah... because I don't believe that radio signals would ever get to the
other side of the galaxy... to much noise and stuff... so it's
unrecnogzible
blabla whatever :D
But you believe one oddly-flickering g-class star will be seen over
the same distances?
Well... we do see other stars don't we ?
I am not sure if we can see all stars at night ? probably not ? but ehm...
because euhm... they say there a billions of stars.. but we dont see all
those stars at night right ?
Maybe our own sun is big enough to be seen on most distance stars... yeah we
should find that hehehe... anyway... it's worth a shot... even if it needs
aliens to construct a telescope :D to see a bit further into space =D
So instead one needs a BIG, POWERFULL, SIGNAL ;)
And I think the sun is a pretty good BIG,POWERFULL, SIGNAL ;)
In a sky full of similar 'big powerful signals.'
Yes... that's why our signal must be simple, special, and blinking :D
FUNNY EH......
BUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
Has anybody ever though about analyzing stars ????
Plenty of people already look for variable stars, nova/supernova, and
planetary searchers might well spot something like this, too.
The idea of large lasers, intermittently transmitting at a wavelength
that's in one of the Sun's spectral absorbtion lines, makes more sense,
though you must then pick very specific targets.
Man there you again... you lost me :)
Maybe other aliens have already though up the same idea ;)
Maybe aliens are already trying to send a message to us by using the
stars
!!!
Since we CAN see the STARS ! even from earth hehehehehehe.
So has anybody really analyzed the light from stars... if they contain
messages from aliens ?
Bye,
Skybuck.
