In Classic just use the CLI, command line interface, and I like Seti
Driver. If you have the 1meg L2 cache set the "maximum processes" for
2, with the 2 meg L2 cache set it for 4. Each workunit takes just
under 512k. You will process either 2 or 4 at a time and have almost
no loss over the time of doing just one on top of it!
In Boinc, version 4.09 is not setup to recognize more than 1 processor
so multi processor systems are out of luck right now, unless they use
version 4.05 or earlier.
The L2 cache is of no help in Boinc, other than that in the future
Boinc MAY assign units to people with the bigger caches units that can
utilize that ability. It is NOT a feature at the moment though. They
are also considering the option of utilizing different memory sizes in
the assigning of workunits, ALL of this is still in development
though.
