It isn't a hyper-threading CPU !!
So, who cares if Win 2k supports it - this is a thread relating to running
multiple SETI Driver processes on 1Mb and 2Mb L2 cache CPU's

You may wish to check out Intel, MS Knowledge Base on Win2K and HAL
issues. If possible, try the SUSE live distro running an SMP kernel and
see if that makes a difference?
