I'm reminded of a one-panel cartoon I saw somewhere (Omni magazine?)
With a physicist or mathematician writing this elaborate
equation/proof/whatever on a large blackboard, creates a gap with the
words:
...then a miracle occurs...
and continues on with mathematical symbols...
